Currently the most popular acting couple in Serbia are Halit Ergenc and Berguzar Korel, star protagonists of Turkish soap opera 1001 gece [1001 Nights]. The two will fly in from Istanbul to Belgrade today at 1.50pm and spend almost two days in Serbia. Ergenc and Korel have expressed their wish to visit the Belgrade fortress and an authentic Serbian tavern during their brief stay.

Halit and Berguzar will be staying at the Hyatt Hotel and would love to see as much of the authentic and traditional content Belgrade has to offer as physically possible. The organisers of the two actors' stay have scheduled an itinerary including venues and sites representing Serbian cultural heritage, such as the Belgrade fortress, Kalemegdan, Knez Mihajlova Street, and the Skadarlija district. Although they are by far the most popular married couple in Turkey and are often compared with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Halit Ergenc and Berguzar Korel are a modest folk. They have had no special requests ahead of their trip to Belgrade, apart from a few bodyguards who will be accompanying them wherever they go.

The purpose of their visit is the airing of the final episode of 1001 gece, after which the couple will take part in a talk show on Prva sprska televizija tonight at 7.45pm.

- "Everything is ready for the arrival of the most popular acting couple in the Balkans. Despite their brief stay in Belgrade, their schedule will be full. Berguzar and Halit will be special guests at Prva srpska televizija and also have a chance to do some sightseeing around the capital, and, of course, to greet their fans. They will tonight be guests in a show entitled 1002th Night, where they will be talking to hosts Danijela Jankov and Srdjan Karanovic, but also the audience," says Prva srpska televizija press agent Sladjana Paunovic.
