Serbia’s well-known music festival EXIT is starting on Thursday in Novi Sad, and is due to continue at the town’s Petrovaradin Fortress for the next four days.

Organizers expect between 45,000 and 50,000 visitors from over 60 countries each day. They will see performances by over 700 artists in about 20 stages and festival zones.

This year the number of foreign revelers will be higher by 30 percent. Beside those coming from the region, as well as Britain and the Netherlands, more visitors are expected from Greece, Turkey, Russia, Poland, Australia, France and Spain, along with those from Mexico, Argentina, the U.S., Canada, Brazil, the South African Republic, China, and Japan.

According to EXIT Founder and Director Dusan Kovacevic, everything is ready for the start of the festival, which he said would be “the greatest spectacle so far at the Petrovaradin Fortress.” He teased “many surprises, including things visitors didn’t have the opportunity to encounter at EXIT before” – but would not reveal “the biggest surprise”:

“I’ll leave it to be discovered by the visitors themselves, and let them see for themselves it really is something big.”

Exit Novi Sad Serbia

Kovacevic also promised better sound quality thanks to “the new, currently most modern available sound system anywhere in the world.” He said that only about 1,000 ticket sets were still available, but added that “a sufficient number of single day tickets has been set aside that will be sold at the entrance to the festival space, to make sure that everyone who comes to Novi Sad can visit EXIT.”

According to forecasts, sunny and warm weather is expected during the four days of the festival in northern Serbia, that will then move to Montenegro for three days of the Sea Dance event.

The lineups include The Prodigy, Skrillex, Ellie Goulding, David Guetta, Wiz Khalifa, Hurts, George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, Bastille, Stereo MC’c, The Vaccines, Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Stormzy, Robin Schulz, Lost Frequencies, Solomun, Marco Carola, Sister Bliss – Faithless DJ Set, Andy C, Maceo Plex, Black Coffee, Banco de Gaia, Cock Sparrer, Paradise Lost, klubovi Nitsa, Tresor, Concrete, Grelle Forelle, and many more.
